COMPANION ANIMAL TESTIMONIALS
Dear Dr. Tanis, Dr. Tyson and clinic staff,
Last Thursday you treated my flat coated retriever, Trango for bloat and a twisted stomach. He died on Friday morning. I was deeply impressed with how quickly Dr. Tanis got him on the operating table to at least give him a chance. She treated him at around 8:30am and it was almost 11 pm when she gave me her last call. She arranged for someone to sit with him all night. The next morning Dr. Tyson called and though he was very careful to let me make any decisions the facts as he laid them out I felt left me no choice but to end his suffering. I know Drs. Tanis and Tyson are professionals but I will always be grateful for the extraordinary care they gave Trango, and the extraordinary kindness they showed to me. I also want to thank the staff. Their professionalism and humanity helped me greatly. Though my wife and I have been devastated by this loss we are grateful that there are people like all of you in this world.

Respectfully,

   Allen and Nancy

I cannot say enough about how much everyone at VMC helped me and my beloved labs, Beau & Raidy, during our time here in Easton. I moved here from Annapolis in 2006 with Beau and Raidy after losing my husband. I knew very few people in the area;. and as could be expected I was extremely dedicated to my 9 year old yellow labs. They were the best guys - siblings born outside of Chestertown in 1997; fathered by our yellow lab, Max and an Amish lab next door, Fresca. No papers but big hearts with great personalities.

Once I found VMC with Drs. Tyson & Callahan and eventually Dr. Amy Tanis, I was able to finally feel comfortable that my boys (and me) were in the best possible hands. During our almost 4 years association, everyone at VMC helped us with all kinds of routine care - the normal shots; visits and food and medicine. But even more importantly they went above beyond anything I had ever seen before helping us with all kinds of unusual events - sticks stuck in Raidy's mouth; ingested socks; Beau's refusal to get out of the SUV with Dr. Tanis having to come and coax him out and give him IV fluids; Dr. Callahan's acupuncture for Beau's arthritis; help with senior dog cognitive problems and Dr. Tyson's therapy for me during my moments of sheer panic! A few middle of the night calls and most importantly knowing when I finally had to let Raidy and Beau go at the ages of 13 - Raidy in May 2010 and Beau in July 2010, that I had the comfort of knowing they had the best possible care.

Everyone at VMC - all the staff always made my job of being a single parent to two 100+ lb, senior labs a rewarding and wonderful experience, even with the tough stuff. I don't have any pets at this point but I miss everyone at VMC so much, I think that I may have to remedy that situation!

I cannot say enough. You all are the best!

Thanks VMC.

"We cannot begin to express our gratitude to everyone at VMC. The care our lab Gillie received was second to none. Her sudden illness was such a shock to us, but the great treatment VMC provided gave us the comfort tomake a very difficult decision. Gillie left this world with us knowing that she received the best possible treatment. The caring, thoughtful way we were treated in Gillie's last days will always be remembered. Our hearts feel broken, but are joyful with memories of her excellent and wonderful care."
With gratitude,

"Everyone at VMC was always kind to our Shorty and his family and when faced with his terminal illness, after exhausting all avenues, and then having to accept the inevitable, your staff could not have been any kinder or more compassionate. Each and every one of you have our thanks and respect and we can only hope that others will recognize and appreciate all you do for all God’s creatures that pass through your doors. Dr. Tyson, you will never know how much it meant to us to have you wait for Shorty and his family when we had to let him go. The image of you coming out the door to help Shorty one final time will be permanently etched in our memory. Because knowing exactly what to do comes so naturally to you, you probably aren’t aware at times of what an impact you have on people’s lives. Your knowledge was learned to enable you to help animals but your compassion is a gift to help animals and their families. Thank you again for everything. When our hearts heal perhaps someday, you will see us again at VMC with another dog."
Sincerely,
Glenn & Connie Payne & Family

"Dr. Tyson, We will never be able to thank you properly for your care and kindness so generously given to Harlee, Rodney and me throughout her illness. A very few of us have gifts far beyond the parameters of human kind and you are of those. Your calm spirit and steady guidance kept us in balance-even at the end. I too hope to see you in better days. I know we did the right and best thing, but it would have been almost unbearable without your strength."

"I have been a client of Veterinary Medical Center (VMC), since 1980. I have been a parent to many animals over that 30 yr span. I owned dogs; cats; & horses. My animals are like family to me, and I want the very best medical care possible.

Our current family consists of; a 2-yr old black lab ( Cinderella); and 1 & 1/2 yr old rottweiler ( Rosie); a 7- yr old calico ( Pumpkin); and a 3- yr old gray tabby ( Cowboy). All of the Veterinarians employed at VMC have treated my animals. I have the greatest respect for all of them. I know that my animals will receive the very best care, from rountine vaccinations to complicated surgeries. VMC has the latest diagnostic tools to diagnose & treat any medical issues. The Vet Tech staff work together with the Drs. to make sure that all procedures are done with skill and care.

The employees that answer the phones, and welcome me at the front desk are outstanding. All of my questions are answered in a timely manner, and my experience from check-in to check-out is very satisfying.

VMC offers emergency care for all of their patients. I have needed this valuable service many times, always receiving excellent care. The VMC team works together to provide professional, friendly service to me and my animals.

The new hospital is not only beautiful, but functional. The lobby is large and comfortable for me and my big dogs. Exam rooms are beautiful, & well equipped. There are areas for surgery; recovery; dental work; diagnostics; equine capable- with a large stall for a mare and foal, and an exam area that adjust to accomodate any size equine. There is a 'comfort room' to discuss results of tests, to euthanasia.

The prescription area is extremely well-equipped with medications needed to treat my animals. The Veterinarians discuss quality dietary choices for my animals, and prescription diet foods are always available.

Occassionally there is a need for a patient to be referred to another Veterinary Hospital that has surgeons trained to perform specialized surgeries. This also included Physical Therapy and Aquatherapy. The Drs. at VMC work together to come up with the best plan to treat an animal, and don't hesitate to refer patients to specialized hospitals. In these cases, VMC patients are given a CD of all diagnostics tests,; and a complete medical history; to give to the referred facility. The referred hospital is in contact with VMC with all of the treatments given to the patient.

Most of all, the staff at VMC are my friends. They care about me, as well as my pets. I highly recommend VMC to anyone who is 'owned' by a pet."

Many Thanks,
   Barbara Lee Jefferson

"A 100+-page veterinary file only begins to tell the story of our beloved dog, Sadie, and her incredible care at VMC. Sadie insured that Drs. Bruce and Tyson (and almost every other vet at VMC) revisited each and every class they took in med school - she tested virtually every chapter in every text book and made sure they had studied them well. While Sadie herself was a study in resilience, VMC matched her will to survive with the medical know-how to make it possible. They never pushed her to a life without quality, in fact, just raised their eyebrows each time we reported that she was back from the brink, running around the farm, swimming in the pool and eating like a small horse. They believed, as we did, that Sadie would lead the way and they would provide the "technical assistance." As Dr. Tyson remarked once, "Sadie, you've licked the boots of Death so many times!" The stellar care that VMC provided (and continues to provide for our other pets) was not just for Sadie, of course, but her human companions as well. Frank assessments, humor, hope and of course, consummate skill are the hallmarks of our experience at VMC. We can't even begin to express our gratitude for the doctors and staff who rode the roller coaster of Sadie's life with us. Thank you, everyone at VMC."

"My heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all of you for all you have done. You are truly those few and special people that make such a difference, not only in our lives as pet owners but for our pets as well. Your caring, compassion and kindness for our little companions from birth, during their lives with us, and during the times we have to say, “Good Bye”, are truly demonstrated in your daily dedication and love for animals. I love you guys. You are the BEST! God Bless You!"

"Dear Dr. Callahan, I wanted to thank you, the vet tech and everyone at VMC for the terrific care you provided my dog, Max on his last day on Earth, October 20, 2010. It meant a lot to me that he was able to die at home with dignity and in his comfortable surroundings. Thank you for everything. You made the hardest day of my life a little bit easier."

"You all are amazing! I was so surprised that you took the time to send the "before" and "after" photos to us. I found them very impressive. Huge improvement between the two photos.

In this economy, with money tight, my husband and I have been scrutinizing every expenditure. We seriously contemplated on whether or not we could afford to spend more than $300 on our dog's teeth. I must say that we are very glad that we did....we really recieved our money's worth! Not just because of the obvious benefits related to Brandy's health and well-being, but also because of the added value of your attentiveness, care, and concern. (You can't put a price on great customer service and "follow-through.")

Thanks a million for everything. We are all very pleased"!
